Wondering if you have to diet forever to be the size you want to be? The answer is, absolutely not!
Once you reach your ideal weight, you can eat poor quality foods if you have a secure plan to do so! You want to make sure you are eating a well-balanced diet and aren’t eating poor food choices too frequently, but don’t be telling yourself you “can’t” have them! You can, you just have to be in control of your food, and not allow it to control you.
Many of my clients have learned to make healthy food choices through our program. They understand being in control of pizza or red wine days is crucial to maintain their new weight. Learning how the body responds to poor food choices is helpful in knowing what to expect. You will go up in weight after a pizza day, for several days! But when this is planned out, eating healthy in the days following your pizza binge is crucial. With this strategy your body will retain water, release the water, and return to its baseline after a few days. Without a strategy, you will gain weight!
The truth is everyone is slightly different. But we are all the same in that we require certain nutrients to maintain a healthy weight, and we all want junk food. Building a lifestyle to include both (in a controlled manner) is key to long term success! This might sound overwhelming for you, but I assure you, once you understand the value of your food and practice the new lifestyle for several months, it really does become easier.
